Meet Deirdre, a graphic designer who calls Perth home and can't get enough of paper GSM and typography. While studying her Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design, she took on and conquered the ISTD assignment and went on a total typographic journey that changed her design game forever. Since then, she's worked for major Perth media and advertising organisations and now she's doing her thing for the local government.
What is post-pandemic Perth design in need of most?

Think about what makes you different to other design students? Learn a unique skill
Design is all about creativity, so don't be afraid to have fun and experiment. Try out different design styles, play with colour, explore and keep in the loop with design trends
Learn from constructive criticism with a smile: Embrace feedback with a positive attitude, and use it as a way to improve your skills and grow as a designer
Connect and use LinkedIn. This was a surprising tool that will connect you with different designers and possible opportunities.
